@cabhan thats wat I have been saying these people who doubt heaslip are armchair rugby players being in a backrow isnt all about bouncing people and destroying defensive systems if heaslip didnt do wat he does his Flanders wouldnt be getting all the applause because the would be stuck at the bottom of rucks trying to get the ball....for all you people hoping for heaslip dropping try name the last time he missed a tackle since the world cup

liam2me, do you actually watch rugby? Heaslip has been in outstanding form of late. Hes back to his very best. Supposedly he had a dip in form when in fact he was in doing the dirty work and turning over more ball than the rest of the pack combined!

a backrow of 6. Ferris, 7. POM and 8, SOB could be very interesting. It's been a long time since Heaslip did anything of note and POM has been superb this season.
I'm curious to see who makes the step up from the A game tonight as well

Look at the bright side all these players were talking about starting and dropping and what not Ireland have class all through the squad and class bot even in the squad. If this 6n was won by the greatest quality players we would run away with the championship my only problem is can kidney make them click and picking most of the same players at the WC means we're gonna gel faster ,Well im hoping thats the case

@Carpelone, you can't leave Heaslip out, he's probably the closest thing to a real 7 that we have

@trooper love your team, Especially Bowe at 13. Henry is good too and an interesting call, its going to be really interesting seeing him tomorrow. I have thought O'Brien is doing well this season so Im not 100% sure about dropping him. Would love to see a more experimental team against Scotland or Italy with Rhys Ruddock, Zebo/Gilroy, Spence/O'Malley getting some looks in.

Sexton should start, he's a far superior player to ROG at this stage, kicking, running the backline, attack, defense, reading the game, Sexton has it all the only thing ROG is slightly better at is kicking the penalties. I will concede his kicking % for Ireland was abysmal at the world cup but with McFadden is there as backup should Sexton have a shocker(which I don't believe he will), no worries. Plus Sexton is the future ROG is 35, we should be looking to the next WC. Before the Munster fans start whinging I am NOT a Leinster fan I'm proud Connacht supporter, but I do watch all of the Irish provinces play in the HC and Pro12.

Good 6 Nations for Ireland would 4 wins. First game against the Taffs is a must win. My team
1. Healy
2 Best
3 Ross
4 O Connell
5 Ryan
6 Ferris
7 Henry
8 Heaslip
9 Murray
10 Sexton
11 Fitsgerald
12 Darcy
13 Bowe
14 Trimble
15 Kearney.
I know some might not agree with Henry at 7, but is on form and O'Brien has not been good since WC. O'Brien would be a great impact sub. There is the potential to make Bowe a great 13. Remember Umaga's move from wing for the ABs? Fitzgerald may be in injured, but if fit a much better ball player than Earls. Earls cannot pass the Ball!

@MunsterRedArmy
No worries. Anyway, as far as I can tell the "Leinster fans" on PR are unique to PR. A lot of the edgier opinions given here I've never heard from people at the matches.

@crunchfit: i am delighted to see a leinster fan say that, sadly on PR i've seen too many comments from certain leinster fans wich really shouldnt be on this website. I'm glad you spoke up, faith in leinster rugby fans restored. And sorry to all if my comment seemed so harsh, just a bit disapointed how same people talk sh*t about same players over and over again, just because these players dont play for Leinster, even though if half the PR + coaches think the opposite and even if it would be best for Ireland.
@paddy91317: dear paddy, if you havent noticed there were alot of fans wanting for Sexton to get a try in the second half (lately Deccie has been playing sexton 1st, than rog and not really giving Sexton a try in late game) I agree with them thats why I mentioned ROG 1st and Sexton later. ROG will be present in Irish rugby for at least another year even though he's geting old and not performing as he once did. I'm glad Ireland has a good player as Sexton to step in for RoG, all he needs is some more test rugby game time.
@J_HDK: are you kidding me?? England will fall!!

I wouldn't mind Sexton starting ahead of ROG if we had someone on the pitch who could kick.

@MunsterRedArmy
Calm down. The rivalry isn't that bad. It's a fairly friendly rivalry. I'm a Leinster fan, but I really couldn't care much less about who gets the Irish jersey as long as they are the best choice. I'm sure lots of fans are the same. No need for stupid rants like that exaggerating the rivalry and stirring for no reason. It makes Munster fans look bad and they are some of the nicest fans around. I really hope your views aren't shared among Munster fans because that would be a shame for all Irish fans.

@norm: well said mate
@GCP_JONES: hahaha its pretty sad if its true
Irish scrum looks solid and should do some damage in that area, only concern about centres. I'd love to see:
9. Reddan with ROG and Murray with Sexton (these two will probably form 9-10 in the future years). Also with such strong scrum its a shame we dont have Strings as he really knew how to boss that pack!
10. I'd go for ROG first and see how Sexton does in the 2nd half.
11. Earls
12. McFadden
13. Bowe
14. Trimble
15. Kearney
For me it looks a strong team but only on paper. Would love to see them play like that one day.

Actually BigRugbyBalls they wont loose there place because they are not close to NZ on the rankings and if they do loose Ireland wont loose much ground if we lost to the abs besides a win would do wonders for the cause. we gotta wait and see im confident Ireland might be able to get one upset if this idiot goes with a bit of youth and picks on god damn form.

Hoguibear im very well aware at what I have written I did write it after all. The fact is kidney has called him up and D'arcy has only played a few times this season in big games because O'Malley and McFadden have had him warming the bench. Oh and Bowe never played 13 under kidney as you stated to Leinster_goy but he does play it time from time for Ospreys so he is capable of playing outside center so he is an option thats what everyone knows. Hope you enjoyed rugby 101 mate :) .
