Who was the refs manager at the 2007 RWC?
Who had a bad game in 1999, and favoured France in their game v Fiji, andarguably changed the whole of the ensuing match ups?
If Fiji had rightly won, NZ would not have met France in the semi's, and NZ would have been in the final.
As many have said, it is all about selling books!

"Louis Luyt who worked for the Sa union then gave the ref and both touch judges gold watches . "
If you have read bevan's book, you would see that the watch was of very small value, it was gold coloured.
But I take your point.
I am intrigued as to why the iRB did not make the officials refuse such a crass gesture.

Rather rich of you to incorrectly claim that NZ always get favoured by suspect calls in the 3N and then lecture GH
Posted 15:39 11th August 2012
@Dingbat32. thanks for your kind words and interesting post. always good to have a little fun from time to time. too much seriousness on these pages, too much of the time methinks :-)
(and by the way, you're totally right about joost. that guy was/is truly extra-ordinary!)

GH you a sad man and should except the defeats with the wins. There may have been suspect calls but this has occurred on many occasions before including many a tri nations games that always favoured Nz but you never minded that.
Have some respect for your country and stop worrying about your own ego and let it go. Tough day tough result to take but be a man and take it and move on.
You are not that great and by the way were certainly not the best team in final in last world cup??
Sad sad sad day for kiwi rugby.

I'm an England supporter but was very surprised that the French try in RWC11 final was allowed to stand after the ball was kicked through by an offside player. Had that been ruled correctly the match wouldn't have been nearly so close, and who knows, NZ might have cut loose as is their wont when they are more than a converted try ahead.

I like your excuses posts, here are South Africas (note -tongue fiurmly in cheek - it is just a bit of fun!)
87 not allowed to play or would obviously have won
91 not allowed to play or would obviously have won
95 won it!
99 Appointed a lunatic as coach, seemingly with a plan to avoid any attempt at winning. Joost nearly spoilt it by single handedly winning games.
03 Failed to learn any lesson from 99
07 won it!
11 Bryce Lawrence, and John Smit failure to respond on the pitch
Posted 12:36 09th August 2012
@rugbyforever..hahaha classic immature response!!! Still not facing the real issue and choosing rather to insult. Again, what's that got to do with the article?? Still being a kid are we??
Posted 07:39 08th August 2012
Why don't you get an adult to edit your comments before posting?
Posted 01:02 08th August 2012
@Moggsy81 If you're going to compare 2011 and 2007, then youll find that the stats for 2007 are definitely more "dodgier" or more shall we say more "extremely unusual". Any logical person, could come to that conclusion!
@rugbyforever NO shame on YOU!!! So now its "sheep-shagging ilk." Whats that got to do with this article??? What country are you from?? So i can insult your country men too, for no apparent reason!!! GH has based his 'opinions' in a biography, on facts.
You cant argue with these facts, they point to 2 things either; he was match fixing, or he was a really in competent ref! BOTH views would have caused controversy, no matter how you slice it! That really is the bottom line buddy! So if you cant handle that, and you want to insult others, then you just need grow the hell up, get over it, and stop being a little kid!!! These ill informed, "GH is a soar loser, blah balh, sheep shagger, blah blah, blah" rubbish comments are getting tiresome!!!

The howls of fixing and cheating in the 2011 final came long and hard before Henry aired his thoughts on 2007. Those making the most noise about 2011 are now the most indignant about the 2007 comments. It's called blind envy.

I am ASTOUNDED Graham Henry has the gaul to even mutter the words MATCH FIXING! Did he even watch the 2011 final?
NZ are good but they got carried through that final by some awful reffing and what else can you say about Richie McCaw at the breakdown?
France should have won that final and had that ame not been in New Zealand they would have.

....by the way, for completeness, and to avoid perception of bias, here is my take on the French version of RWC folklore (hoping not to insult any French fans out there):
87 too much "celebrating" after beating Aus in Sydney
91 English cheating / punch on Blanco / biased ref
95 disallowed Benazzi try / too much rain
99 more "celebrating" after NZ semi
03 rain / boring English kicking
07 shockingly lucky early try / boring English kicking
11 bad ref / NZ press smear campaign
("celebrating" = anything from booze/women the night before to cheeky cigarettes at half-time!)
Posted 11:04 04th August 2012
@rugbyforever. i thought the folklore was something along these lines....
87 eden park masterclass (despite french skull-duggery)
91 campo diagonal
99 french skullduggery
03 mortlock intercept
07 more french naughtiness
11 second eden park master class (despite further french skull-duggery)
boy, those frenchies have a lotto answer for!!

Sorry to hear that you are so sad and bitter by such a irrational rant.
Logic would say that if there was any truth in it then you would have already heard of these underhand methods
Posted 11:25 03rd August 2012
NZ have only won 2 World Cups, both at home!!!!
We've heard about allegations of food poisoning in 1995 and now (5 years after the event!) accusations of match fixing. When can we expect to hear what foul and underhand methods were responsible for the other losses as clearly it seems to be against all the laws of nature for the AB's to actually lose in a fair manner!
Shame on Graham Henry and all his sheep-shagging ilk.

Munster, the Irish were penalised for illegal scrummaging, you're required in the laws to push straight and not screw or wheel the scrum. It was an easy decision. The 2nd drop goal attempt came about because the 1st attempt was touched in flight. There was no 50 -50 about it, oh.. except the Dagg yellow. Yep benefit of the doubt with that decision.
Posted 00:44 03rd August 2012
Haha! Well we're probably all guilty of that, me included and especially during the game when I sometimes rant on about the ref or the opposition cheating but usually the reality kicks in watching the replays and I calm down.
Good luck to England and Bath

@7ton - Thanks, I have to say though I get really one-eyed if its England or Bath.
