Its that sort of stupid 'putting players in their wrong positions' that looses World Cups, like not playing Umanga at Center or putting MacDonald at Center or not playing Christian Cullen at fullback but at Center.

The players are there that are specialists Use Them!!

Not even a mention for Freuan here, which is a realy surprise given he's been one of the two inform centres in NZ rugby this year. Nonu and Smith haven't had their best seasons, though admittedly their team has been disappointing. Bottom line is that NZ have around 5 top class centres and about the same in terms of wings - what anyone else would give to have to choose from that sort of pool!

Irishlad, oddly that would please me no end, the men fron the Emerald Isles being my favourite NH team, may have a little to do with strong Irish ancestory.

@houston_11 not 100% sure but didn't conrad smith start out as a winger? I'm pretty sure he has even played tests on the wing.

Does anyone remember when Ireland played NZ and BOD made Nonu look like a fool on atack and defence?? I remember BOD running around Nonu to score an amazing try!

It was established years ago that Nonu just doesn't have the top end pace to play on the wing. He's definitely fast, but he's not international wing fast. If he was, we'd be looking at an all time great winger if you factor in the rest of his skill set and size. Gear, Guildford and Maitland would be my first choice wingers, and maybe Poki and Jane in there as well before I put any of the centres there

I hope NZ win the RWC - they have been the best team (or close) for 6 decades IMO.

Oh and if NZ try to keep all their best players on the pitch in this manner, I don't see them winning the WC. I think they will if they made educated decisions in team selection.

Stop all this star-shuffling! Conrad Smith is a great player but he is not a winger! The same can be said for SBW and Nonu. They ply their trade in the centre so it comes down to management making the tough decision (which I hope they do)!

In terms of the wings, Maitland and Guilford have been on great form this season and Sivivatu has put in some solid showings as well. They're your top 3 for the wings.

And although Mils can easily perform in the centre, I'd have him at FB where he's been Mr Reliable for so many years.

Finally, size in the centre does not win you matches. Take Ireland v England in the 6 Nations. All the talk was about the size of Banahan and how the Irish could handle him. In the end, he was non-existent in the game. The reason why SBW and Nonu are threats is because they've developed their skills and are no longer just a ball carrier.

Play Mils at centre again

Personally I'd prefer nonu at 12 and SBW at 13 the man played centre in rugby league at the top level I'm sure he could handle it in Union aswell, also pushing conrad smith to the wing with his and nonu's combination for the canes and SBW's offloads and conrads amazing ability in support plays he'd probably end up top try scorer of the WC!
