All Blacks captain Richie McCaw after scoring

Collection: Richie McCaw

All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, who already holds plenty of records, notably the most capped New Zealand Test player and the most experienced international forward ever to play the game, has taken a couple more.

McCaw, who scored two tries against the Wallabies, now has crossed the chalk 23 times.

That is a new world record, overtaking former Wales back-row Colin Charvis who scored 22 tries.

Former All Blacks number eight Zinzan Brooke is second on the New Zealand list with 17.

Further, McCaw's tally against Australia now rises to 11 tries, meaning that the Test skipper has scored more tries against a single nation than any other player.

The previous record was held by fullback Christian Cullen, who scored ten tries against the Springboks.

McCaw's Records

129 Tests (WR for a forward)
114 wins (WR)
92 Tests as captain (WR)
81 wins as captain (WR)
23 tries (WR by any forward in history)
11 tries against Australia (most by any one player against one team)
