New Zealand will play a Test match in Samoa for the first time next year in preparation for the Rugby World Cup, according to reports.

The NZ Herald have revealed that an agreement is in place to stage the fixture probably in late July next year.

The NZRU has come under huge pressure to play a Test for the first time in the Pacific Islands, after recent matches in Hong Kong and the upcoming clash against the USA in Chicago this November.

Set to take on Samoa at Apia Park, which has a capacity of 15,000, the match will be a truly historic occasion.

"The All Blacks have agreed to play on our soil and we are negotiating a good time to suit the players," Samoa Prime Minister Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Dr Sailele Malielegaoi told the NZ Herald.

"Our boys have to come and shiver in the cold in New Zealand playing the All Blacks and so it's time for them to come here and enjoy the sun."
