Steve Hansen's verdict on the second Test was that England couldn't live with the All Blacks' high-tempo game, after winning the series.

Despite the proximity of the scoreline at 28-27, the All Blacks had the match settled long before the final whistle after momentarily finding their groove.

Uncertain what to expect from England in Hamilton on Saturday, Hansen suggested the visitors had tried and failed to match New Zealand's quick-paced approach and that they may revert to more kicking for territory to cut out errors.

"They're in a bit of a quandary, really, because they took us on in Dunedin playing a game at real pace and worked out they couldn't," Hansen told stuff.co.nz.

"What are they going to do now?

"I've heard Stuart mention they shouldn't play too much rugby down their end. Maybe they're going to kick a bit more."

Hansen admitted that the All Blacks still had several gears to move up into in order to match their best performance of last year at Ellis Park.

In both Tests so far against England, New Zealand have started terribly, something which Hansen addressed.

"That's been our focus, trying to lift our performance and getting our skill-sets right across the park, and having the energy and intensity to play the game at high speed for 80 minutes," added Hansen.

"We haven't quite got it right. We're either over or under-aroused. We got away to a terrible start last week."
