Advice: Nick Mallett

World XV coach Nick Mallett believes South Africa need to pay attention to their work in the set-piece after winning in Cape Town.

The Springboks scored six tries but Mallett seemed surprised at how well his scratch side were able to compete at the lineout.

The World XV also put South Africa under decent pressure in the scrum, despite finishing way behind on the scoreboard by full-time.

"We (World XV) lost only one lineout ball, which is very uncommon for an invitational team that only had one practice session," Mallett told Die Burger.

"In the scrums we forced penalties in both the first and second half and at one stage we pushed the Boks back almost 10 metres.

"Those are aspects the Boks would want to work on."

The Springboks face Wales in two Tests before taking on Scotland later this month.
