If French press reports are to be believed, Toulon could have five former Springboks in their squad next season with the World Cup-winning team of 2007 the centre of attention.
Record-breaking wing Bryan Habana has long been linked with the Top 14 league leaders and various French press reports, including one from television station Canal+, claim that he put pen to paper while on holiday in Dubai on Sunday.
On Thursday, South African newspaper Die Burger also reported that they were reliably informed that Habana had inked a deal.
The 29-year-old has refused to comment on the matter and transfer rules in France prevent Toulon from making an announcement.
The Stormers have however confirmed that Toulon are trying to sign SA's 2012 Player of the Year after the upcoming Super Rugby season.
If Habana does head to Toulon, he will join former Springbok and Bulls team-mates Bakkies Botha, who is already there, and Danie Rossouw, who will arrive from Suntory Sungoliath after the 2012-13 Japanese club season.
The reunion of former Boks may not end there as French radio station RMC have reported that World Cup-winning captain John Smit has already signed a deal with Toulon from Saracens ahead of the next Top 14 season as a replacement for retiring former French international Sebastien Bruno.
Former Springbok loose forward Joe van Niekerk is the current Toulon captain.
