Ireland winger Tommy Bowe believes his side have a "great opportunity" to produce something special against New Zealand.

The world champions are targeting an unbeaten year, have won 13 matches out of 13 so far in 2013.

The All Blacks' 14th encounter, a trip to Dublin, is being regarded by many as a foregone conclusion after Ireland's poor performance against Australia last weekend in their 32-15 loss.

Joe Schmidt's tenure as Ireland boss has therefore gotten off to a rocky start, but Bowe retains the belief that the a first-ever victory over the All Blacks can be achieved.

Ireland most recently took on New Zealand in a three-Test tour in 2012, and although they pushed their hosts close in the second Test they were thrashed 60-0 in the final match.

"We know what a great opportunity we have in front of us. When you get that, it's a great chance to make history," said Bowe.

"To beat the All Blacks this weekend, we know we'll have to take the game to them, finish those chances that we create.

"For us not to score a try against Australia, we're very disappointed with that.

"With the players we've got, we know we can score tries."
