Adam Jones: Red club colours?

London Welsh coach Justin Burnell has revealed he would love to bring Wales and B&I Lions tighthead Adam Jones to the club for the new season.

The veteran prop is currently without an employer as the off-field situation in Wales continues to perplex, with Burnell possibly offering a home.

33-year-old Jones has already been linked with several clubs including Bristol and even Toulon after the World Cup but now the Exiles are keen.

"I would love to have Adam on board," Burnell revealed to Wales Online on Wednesday.

"I genuinely believe he is one of the best tightheads in the world, if not the best. When somebody of his calibre becomes available, you have to be interested.

"If a deal could be done, I would have him here tomorrow."

He added: "For someone like me, who looks to play a forward-orientated, direct game, he would be perfect.

"And what a great statement it would be for London Welsh to sign a world renowned player like him. But it wouldn't just be a publicity stunt by us.

"He is a phenomenal, world-class player with a proven track record. The contribution he'd make would enhance our ability to compete in the Premiership."
