Undecided: Rhys Priestland

Wales fly-half Rhys Priestland admits it is difficult for him to make a decision on his future amid ongoing conflicts in Welsh rugby.

The Welsh Rugby Union and the four regions remain at loggerheads over funding and cross-border competitions.

And Scarlets pivot Priestland insists he is far from the only player caught in an awkward position, with the likes of Leigh Halfpenny, Sam Warburton, and Alun Wyn Jones all out of contract come the end of the season.

"It's very hard to make a decision when you don't know what's going on," Priestland told the South Wales Evening Post.

"It's not just me in that situation.

"I think there's a few players that feel quite frustrated at the moment."

Ex-Wales skipper Gwyn Jones said during a BBC debate on the subject that he believes the Union taking over would see the Welsh game follow the paths of Ireland and New Zealand.

"Ultimately when you look at this on a more philosophical basis, I think the Welsh model of rugby is more suited and closer to the Irish model and the New Zealand model," said Jones.
