rugbybutten - thanks for the startling research! Something of an eye-opener.
bruno74 - having watched Delve on Saturday night, I must agree. As well as his player skills he has the ability to lift his team. He also reads the game very well and makes good decisions based on that. Mind you, that's just from recent form. The Rebels earlier this year were dreadful, and pre-season were even more horrible still.

bruno74 , ditto: very few NH guys manage to play day in day out in S15 rugby '; more importantly to stay injury free . given Delve plays in OZ it would have been a no brainer to pick him and get some local knowledge.
but then this is not cricket where conditions matter to the outcome ; it may be far more important for the players to be familiar with the home setup and each others' styles.
however, it must be said that either there are no quality 8s in OZ or Delve is very good to play and captain in S15! has to be the latter coz all 15 teams have not one but 2 good 8s. also he managed to rein in Reid ( r the little while he played )

It was a few years ago, when there were 6 Jones boys in the team, they made a big thing of it in the local paper at the time.
Australian commentary team, do they have one?
I thought it was on "do you fancy doing it ?" basis.
It sounds like that anyway..........

the most Williamses ...
the most Wiliamses and Joneses together.
Bonus points for Bill as a first name, and a triple word score for any William Williams. My point is that this team isn't going to place much pressure on the Australian commentary box.
