Returning: Marland Yarde

London Irish and England winger Marland Yarde returned ahead of schedule to full training with the Premiership club on Monday.

The highly-rated flyer was expected to miss the entire Six Nations, having undergone hip-tendon surgery in November, but it appears he could be fit to face Wales at Twickenham on 9th March.

21-year-old Yarde is likely to start for Irish on February 23rd against Leicester Tigers, though England boss Stuart Lancaster has admitted Yarde faces competition to win back his place, and will not feature against Ireland.

"Marland trained with the team today for the first time," Brian Smith, London Irish's Director of Rugby, told the Telegraph.

"We are expecting him to be right to play against Leicester.

"He has been told by Stuart Lancaster that he will not be involved in the Ireland game so that gives him plenty of time to get fit for the remaining two Six Nations games.

"Clearly his motivation is to try to play for England again as quickly as possible.

"He had his first hit-out today, which was a relatively moderate session, and then tomorrow it will be more full on and we will then get clearance from the medics.

"But at this point in time the medical advice is that he will not be ready for this weekend but will target the following weekend."
