Bath clarify Eastmond walk-out

Bath and England back Kyle Eastmond will be staying with the Aviva Premiership club, despite walking out of last Friday's LV= Cup game.

Eastmond reportedly stormed out of Salford Stadium at half-time in the 27-20 win over Sale Sharks, according to The Times.

The rugby league convert allegedly collected his kitbag and drove off after being substituted for Matt Banahan at half-time.

Eastmond won his first caps for England in the two-Test series victory over Argentina back in June.

"Contrary to current reports, Bath can confirm that Kyle Eastmond is still in contract with the club and is very much part of the squad," read a club statement.

"An incident arose at the Sale game last Friday which has led to an internal investigation, but this has been dealt with and both parties have put the matter behind them.

"The club will be making no further comment on this matter."

Bath chief executive Nick Blofeld stated that Eastmond has been disciplined internally and that the matter was now settled.

"The situation is being dealt with," Blofeld told The Times.

"Kyle has been disciplined but we are also helping him in what are difficult personal circumstances for him."
