BokAvenger why are you so derisive of anything that isn't South African? You really are a sad little peanut aren't you

Rugby_ruckstar - good point about Tom Wood. Fantastic player who will no doubt be a future England star.
Doran-Jones is not quite such a prospect I'm afraid. He spends most of his time on the Saints bench and I dont think he's that good when he plays.

Very unlucky for Brown. He's only just managed to get back into the starting 15!
Tom Wood remains the unluckiest injured player though. Mind you I think he'll be in Lancaster's thoughts for November. Johnson and Robshaw were brilliant but watching the match I was left thinking we were lucky tom croft wasn't in the 22. He wouldn't have lasted 5 seconds. there;'s certain a place for Tom Wood, even if its just on the bench for now.
sorry for going off on a tangent there folks.

Thats a real shame for Brown and England ,as his been in electric form .Abendanon, is a good replacement ,but imo just lacks Browns spark imo.Wonder if C.Wade will now start thuis Saturday ,as Foden is sure to be moved back to 15

Great the bandy is getting his deserved chance, but it's a shame that it's at the expense of the injursed Brown. Mr Angry was one of our best players in the match, so to lose him will be a blow.
Get well soon, Mike!
But bendu does bring some flair and skills. He's not as big as Brown, but has a big heart and will bring some great stuff to the squad!

@BokAvenger - I know I read several articles that mentioned the impact that the SA front-row substitutions had, one of them on here. You don't get your 'news' from The Sun, do you? ;) No bones about it, England suffered up front when the changes were made, and our substitutions made the situation worse. I'm hoping that Tom Youngs will get a chance to stake his claim in the mid-week game because Lee Mears isn't good enough in my opinion (especially in the scrums), and Paul Doran-Jones isn't a strong scrummager either...roll on an extra front row substitute!

Before people get too excited about another Bok in the team, Abendenon's only gonna be contending for a spot in the midweek team, and even then it's unlikely as Goode will be playing there and 1) he's unlikely to put a fullback on the bench / 2) I can't imagine Lancaster going for the 2 fullbacks strategy against the SA barbarians.
Gutted for Brown, i AM a quins fan but the guy really has been awesome this season and deserved this

It's a shame for Brown because I honestly thought he was one of the best English players on the field on Saturday. Very solid. But at least now when England lose the second test they'll be able to blame the loss on all the non-English players in the team. Cannot believe how much was directed at Barrit by the English press and the comments posted below stories. He's a helluva player and I'm still sorry SA let him go. I'm also amazed at how not a single English press report has mentioned the obliteration of the English scrum in the last quarter of the game. If that had happened to SA we would have gone ballistic. But in true English tradition, when something happens that makes you look bad, just pretend it didn't happen.

It's a real shame for brown...he's worked really hard to get a test start and he deserved it...oh well we still have Foden, Abendanon (who's always a shot of sparkling class in a downbeat bath side) and if needs be Jonny May to call up...We've got no lack of depth there then...does this mean Foden will be moved back to 15 and Wade will get his first test start? Or is it more likely monye will fill the gap left on the wing because of his experience?
