sad day for england -- lancaster has the balls but not the brains or charisma of a RWC winning coach -- its like expecting Mandela and getting Tutu ------------

Plymouth Albion would love to have you coach 'em Nick!
Also, do you mind if we don't actually pay you? I'm afraid we're broke... But we do promise not to egg your car as you drive through Devonport. Well most of us do...

I would hope England can find a role for Nick Mallett. How about the role Rob Andrew supposedly performs ?

I have nothing but admiration for the man .He must be disappointed but his been very gracious and honest.I also wouldnt have minded him being a consultant at the RFU after all we are still looking for a EPD .But i guess he or the RFU felt it didnt feel / look right.Iam pretty sure though he wont be out the game for long .He would be perfect for Ireland but i cant see that happening or France but again it wont happen.Personnally i think he will be at a top club for next season . anyway i do wish him luck whatever and where ever he gose

A good coach, I'm sure he won't be out of work for long. As much as I'm glad Lancaster has been appointed, I can't help but think that adding Mallet, even just as a consultant, for the next year, would not have been a bad thing.

Yes, more than wlecome at the Boks but unfortunately that wont happen.
Cant believe France are sticking with an awful coach (again!) when the likes of Smith and Mallet are there for the taking. It is almost as if France want to handicap themselves.
Hopefully they will stay free agents for a while in case Meyer ends up a disaster.
