Courtney Laws , enforcer, you must be joking. ok he caught the ball in the lineout, but the Welsh boys showed him how to tackle with power and aggression. Even Shane Williams can bring down lumps of men.

Laws as a Lion - dont make me laugh

Another player for England who has huge potential and will be at the height of his powers by the RWC in England!

This World Cup has come too soon but 4 years time looks promising - if we can get the coaching right!

zambokke - i was going to mention botha but then i realised he is more of a cheap-shot hack than an "enforcer."

APV1 - glad you appreciate my views. you know i speak the truth. to be fair the only thing ive seen this lad do is push brad in the back with the force of a cheap air conditioner after that disgraceful scrub dylan hartley cheap shotted king richie.

when you rose supporters say things about the english players likes "he is a force to be reckoned with", you mean against other NH teams like ireland, france, italy, yeah?

Don't forget his skill also - he isn't just an enforcer (same goes for Bakkies!).

@ jonesy2 - "...this guy couldn knock the fluff off a cappucino."

I'm beginning to like you more and more! You should be Michael McIntyre's understudy - that's how comedic you are!

He's the nailed-on 2nd row for England and making a damned fine case for a Lions berth. Already. That's how impressed everyone is.

All except jonesy2, who wouldn't know a rugby player from a bag of banjoes!

It's good to see his name back on the teamsheet. A fantastic player with the potential to became one if the games great players. Any player who at such a young age can be player of the series is worth getting excited about. He's got a very bright future. And I'm looking forward to every minute of it.

Agree with the Lions chat for 2013 - class player, next generation of engine room player after the last decade of Matfields, Bothas, Thorns, Sharpes etc

Richie Gray and him will be an awesome Lions 4 and 5.

I do agree with Jonesy2's original sentiment though - he's not an enforcer. He doesn't have to be as he's got the ability to hit things, hard, all over the pitch, and he doesn't strike me as a player with that bit of niggle like Botha or Thorn. He just goes about his business, smashing stuff...

Its hard to think that he has only been capped 8 times by England and in that time has become arguably the first name on the team sheet for England, with him, Richie Gray, the likes of Warburton, Croft, Cole, O'Brian, the 2013 Lions pack is looking potentially untouchable.

enforcer? please. brad thorn is an enforcer, nathan sharpe is an enforcer, doubt this guy couldn knock the fluff off a cappucino.

Huge fan of this kid. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I expect to see him and Richie Gray wearing red jerseys w/ #4 and 5 on the back come 2013 in Australia.

Lawes has the X-Factor for England & his attitude on the field echoes that of Matt Johnson - a genuine contender for the Lions in 2013 if he doesn't get lazy & stays healthy.

Interested to see how he copes with the greater scrutiny & expectation in the RWC.

About damn time courtney...England has missed you dearly, he's englands most physical player and where alot of other players don't front up...he does...BIG TIME

Brandywiner says...

England have certainly missed him up front. He is a force to be reckoned with. Amazing that he has the footballing skills to back up all that power and speed. I honestly believe he could have made a real difference when England met Ireland in the 6 nations. The Irish 2nd rowers destroyed England's plans and he could have changed that.

Outstanding!

"Someone said the other day that when he's playing you can hear it - when he hits players there's a distinctive noise," said Johnson.

Rather them than me!!!!
