England and Wasps fly-half Danny Cipriani reports that his recovery from injury is going as planned and that he is hoping to back in action by late November.
The 20-year-old suffered a fracture dislocation of his right ankle against Bath in May and is keen to prove his fitness ahead of the 2009 Six Nations.
Although still unable to walk unaided, Cipriani caught up with the BBC whilst enjoying a day of tennis at Wimbledon.
England will clash horns with the might of the southern hemisphere in November, but the young playmaker believes the Six Nations represents a more realistic target in terms of a return to the Test stage.
"I'm not setting myself an exact game, but late November would be a good comeback for me from the injury," he said Cipriani.
"I don't want to do things by halves, I want to be fully fit and ready to go.
"Wasps and England have been very good - they just want to make sure I'm 100 per cent ready.
"Hopefully I will have time to put my place down and make the England team.
"I'm getting [the cast] off on Monday and I just can't wait because I'll be in a boot that will be partially weight-bearing and I can't wait to be walking.
"I [will] have the boot on for two weeks and from the first few weeks you know how quickly it's going to go."
Cipriani missed out England's recent trip to New Zealand and all the associated misery, but he claims he still would have relished being part of the tour.
"I've always wanted to tour with England, it's been a dream of mine and it's something that's been taken away from me," he said.
"I really wanted to go and tour to New Zealand.
"In hindsight, people might say it was a good tour to miss but I really wanted to go out there and be part of the team."
