Will Skelton: Returns to the city of his birth

Wallabies replacement lock Will Skelton could be a game-breaker in Saturday's Bledisloe Cup Test against the All Blacks in Auckland.

Skelton was named man of the match when he made his Test debut against France in June but had to weight 70 minutes before making his second Test appearance in Sydney last weekend.

Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie said he will use Skelton much earlier if conditions are better than it was in Sydney.

And Skelton is excited by the prospect of having another crack at the All Blacks in the city where he was born before moving to Sydney at the age of 10.

"I loved it," he told AAP.

"The conditions weren't the best but I thoroughly enjoyed it, standing in front of the haka and just being amongst that calibre of player within our team and against the All Blacks."

The 22-year-old, who is a cousin of former All Blacks lock Brad Mika, is relishing taking on the All Blacks at Eden Park for the first time.

"I haven't played there much and I'm excited to play there - and I think they've got nice change rooms," added Skelton.

"I used to go and watch the local comp and the NPC - Auckland running around - but I never got to an All Black game when I was growing up.

"But I went to a few over here so I know the atmosphere and to run out there (last Saturday at ANZ Stadium) was different because I was on the field."
