Moving on: Will Genia tipped for French move

Wallabies star Will Genia is set to join the Top 14 in 2015 according to reports in France after a change of heart over his future.

The Reds scrum-half had been widely tipped to join Bath after next year's World Cup, with Bruce Craig investing heavily at the Rec.

But now Midi Olympique believes that Genia has changed his mind, with a host of French clubs hot in pursuit.

Stade Français, whose current scrum-halves - Julien Dupuy and Jérôme Fillol - are 30 and 36-years-old respectively, are believed to be the front runners, having already made an offer.

However they are not the only interested parties, with Toulon, Toulouse and Lyon all mooted as potential landing spots.

Toulon boss Mourad Boudjellal has already laid out his plan to bring in 'les Quatre Fantastiques', his set of four global stars, with Genia apparently fitting the profile.

The timing would also be perfect for Boudjellal, with Nicolas Durand and Michael Claassen out of contract at the end of the season.

It's a similar situation in Toulouse, where Jano Vermaak and Sébastien Bézy are also in the final years of their contracts, and the four-time Heineken Cup champions are also planning considerable investment after the World Cup.

Finally, promoted side Lyon offer an alternative option, with a strong Australian connection already in place.

Coach Tim Lane is a former Australian international, while Wallaby legend George Smith joined the side in the summer.

Having just returned to the top flight, Lyon have ambitious plans to establish themselves as one of the premier sides in the league, and Genia could headline that project.
