Stormers star Gio Aplon is facing a spell on the sidelines after dislocating his elbow in the 22-17 loss to the Reds on Saturday.
Aplon departed midway through the first half as he put his arm out when falling to the ground after being tackled by Reds prop James Slipper.
The 31-year-old is playing his final season of Super Rugby, having signed to play for Grenoble in the Top 14.
No announcement has yet been made on the severity of type of dislocation, which will determine how long he is ruled out, but the gruesome injury resulted in a lengthy stoppage of play before Aplon walked off.
Aplon joins a lengthy injury list for the Stormers that include Eben Etzebeth, Manuel Carizza, De Kock Steenkamp, Tiaan Liebenberg and Schalk Burger.
