Dan Biggar: Has scored all the Ospreys' points in the tournament

Dan Biggar played down his significant role in the Ospreys' Heineken Cup campaign, highlighting instead the importance of Friday's win over Castres.

Seven penalties from the Wales fly-half helped the Ospreys to a 21-12 victory in Swansea - their first win in the tournament this season.

After four rounds of matches, Biggar has now scored all 55 of the Welsh region's points in the 2013/14 tournament.

He acknowledged the Ospreys needed to start scoring tries but he also stressed how significant it had been for them to secure the victory.

"We need to up our try-scoring ratio, but at the minute it was important just to get a win in this competition," he said.

"We know we are probably out.

"But we needed to get a win for confidence going into the Christmas derbies. Hopefully, we can build on that."

"When you are a goal-kicker you are always going to get more opportunities than others.

"The bottom line is we need to score a few more tries - there's no getting away from that - but we're pleased we're putting ourselves in positions for me to have shots at goal.

"I'm feeling good over the tee at the minute. Fingers crossed I can keep that going and we can keep winning games.

"It was a young side out there and we showed a lot of guts and determination against a team who are Top 14 champions and who boasted a big, heavy pack."

The Ospreys' performance was especially impressive after Ian Evans withdrew before kick off, leaving them without either of their Lions locks, with Alun Wyn Jones rested.

But an inexperienced team did well to secure the victory over the top 14 champions.

"You saw a young side put in a massive effort out there," said Ospreys forwards coach Chris Gibbes.

"As an organsiation and as a team we're proud of that effort.

"There's lot of areas where we can be a lot more clinical, but we'll take what we achieved out there. We're pretty happy."

Castres and Lions lock Richie Gray said they were disappointed to come away with nothing from the game.

"We are bitterly disappointed. We came over here looking for a result - wanting a result - but we didn't get it.

"It leaves us on the back foot so now we are playing catch-up. We are still sitting second in the pool so we will give it a good go in the remaining two games."
