Northampton Saints prop Salesi Ma'afu says he has been warned of his side's disjointed showing against London Irish last season.
The Australian is fixed on preventing Saints slumping to another defeat at the Madejski after their 39-17 humbling a year ago, up against a side that features newly-signed compatriot James O'Connor.
"I'm well aware of what happened there last season," Ma'afu told the Northamptonshire Telegraph.
"I guess it's why it's important we go down there and back up a good performance from last weekend.
"We want to go down there and really push hard for a good win. We've got to show some character."
Saints were massively impressive last week, as they coasted to a 41-20 victory over a much-fancied Saracens outfit - one that was, up until the Franklin's Gardens fixture, unbeaten in the Premiership and with the league's best defensive record.
Ma'afu was left delighted with the ascendancy the forward pack was able to gain over their rivals.
"It was an area of the game where we looked to assert some dominance, get ourselves in the game and get our backs in the game," added Ma'afu.
"If we were going to win the game, it was an area where we really had to put our foot down. We've been going well over the last few weeks and it's good.
"Now we've got produce another good performance. We've got to test ourselves in that area, back it up and not be too complacent with our performance."
