WILL FRASER OF SARACENS SCORES V LONDON WASPS

Try for Sarries: Will Fraser

Saracens continued their unbeaten start to the Premiership season with a 19-12 victory over London Wasps at Allianz Park on Saturday.

Sarries recorded a fifth successive win with a good display at their new stadium.

The hosts started the game brightly and their early pressure paid off when they were awarded a penalty after just 5 minutes; Alex Goode converted brilliantly, 3-0.

Wasp's however continued to battle, giving as good as they were given, turning the ball over a few times but were incredibly wasteful when in possession, failing to really test the Saracen forwards.

After 25 minutes Wasp's were down to 14 when 26-year-old Keaman Myall was yellow carded, Goode couldn't convert the penalty missing just wide of the right post.

Saracens failed to take advantage of their one-man advantage and went in to the break 3-0 up with Wasps frustrating the home side yet the game would come to life in the second half.

Saracens missed a penalty just after the restart but made up for it moments later after a great piece of driving play through the backs allowed Goode to slip in Will Fraser on his return to score in the left corner, substitute Owen Farrell converted, 10-0 Sarries.

Wasps went on to make a game of it with Christian Wade beating two men playing it into Chris Bell to score; Andy Goode failed with the conversion, 10-5.

Saracens then went clear with Farrell converting three penalties, striking each confidently, 19-5.

Chris Ashton got yellow carded late on for a deliberate knock and were quickly punished by Wasps captain Bell, scoring his second try of the game.

Andy Goode then made up for his previous kick striking the ball straight through the middle of the posts, securing what could be an all important bonus point come end of the season, final score 19-12.
