Eli Walker: Scored a brace of tries

The Ospreys scored six tries as they powered to a deserved 44-10 PRO12 victory over Edinburgh in Swansea on Saturday.

With a pack that boasted four Lions stalwarts from the outset, the Ospreys cruised to victory with a pair of tries from Eli Walker and Richard Hibbard along with solo efforts from Jeff Hassler and Matthew Morgan.

Tim Visser's 50th PRO12 try was the only highlight for Edinburgh who struggled to contain a rampant Ospreys side.

The hosts flew out of the blocks and took an early lead as Ian Evans claimed the ball from the lineout and a careful re-shuffling of the forwards allowed Canadian winger Hassler to dart over for a debut try. Dan Biggar made light work of the conversion to make it a seven point play before adding two penalties in quick succession.

After weathering the early storm, Edinburgh made a rare venture into the Ospreys' half on the half hour mark, with Harry Leonard scoring his side's first point of the evening from the boot.

Biggar restored the Welsh side's 13 point lead with a third penalty before Justin Tipuric was introduced to replace Tom Smith who was stretchered off the field after a bruising tackle from Tongan powerhouse Aleki Lutui.

Steve Tandy's side showed their intent as Biggar kicked the penalty into touch and the Ospreys were rewarded as the ball was swept from right to left to allow Walker to touch down at the end of the half.

Ospreys started the second half as they ended the first as Hibbard touched down in the corner after some impressive carries from Alun-Wyn Jones, Tipuric and Walker in the build-up.

Edinburgh hit back with their first try of the match as Scotland international Visser capitalised on some lacklustre defending by the home side to sprint over for the try, which Leonard duly converted.

Only minutes later, Tipuric was yellow carded for a tip tackle on scrum-half Sean Kennedy as tempers flared at the Liberty Stadium. But just as momentum looked to be swinging in Edinburgh's favour, Adam Jones expertly marshalled the ball at the back of a driving maul allowing Tito Tibaldi to free Hibbard to secure the bonus point for the Ospreys.

Biggar converted before setting up his side's fifth try just a minute later as Richard Fussell's perfectly weighted grubber kick was gathered by Walker who touched down for his second try, with the fly-half adding the extras.

With the game petering out in the final stages, Matthew Morgan got the home fans jumping out of their seats as he raced from his own 22 metre line to touch down. The 21 year-old converted his own effort to cap off a convincing win for the Ospreys.
