Speculation linking former Australia captain Rocky Elsom with a move to NRL side South Sydney has been denied by the club.
Elsom has won 75 Test caps for the Wallabies and was most recently involved playing as a medical joker for Toulon in the Top 14 last season, before being released.
The 30-year-old had been linked with a move to Pro D2 side Narbonne, but was spotted at the Redfern Oval on Wednesday where he spoke to South Sydney coach Michael Maguire and full-back Greg Inglis.
Elsom started out in Rugby League playing for Canterbury before switching to Union in 2003 to play for the Waratahs, but Maguire has ruled out Elsom making a return with Souths.
"He's actually come down to see how we go about things. That's all it is," said Maguire to AAP.
