Former Highlanders hooker Jason Rutledge has joined the Hurricanes squad as injury cover for Dane Coles and Motu Matu'u.
Coles suffered an ankle injury and Matu'u a shoulder injury during the side's Super Rugby win over the Crusaders on Friday.
Both are working with the Hurricanes medical team to determine the seriousness of the injuries and their availability to train and play this week.
Rutledge is not currently contracted to any Super Rugby franchise or wider training group.
