Tito Tebaldi: Signs for Ospreys

The Ospreys have confirmed the signing of Italian international scrum-half Tito Tebaldi for next season to replace the outgoing Kahn Fotuali'l.

The 25-year-old, who has also played in RaboDirect PRO12 at fly-half and full-back, will arrive at the Liberty Stadium after agreeing a two-year contract with the Welsh region.

"I'm excited about this fantastic opportunity with the Ospreys. Their record in the PRO12 speaks for itself and the chance to be a part of such a successful club is something I couldn't turn down," said Tebaldi.

"I'm looking forward to a new challenge in a competitive environment that will help me to improve as a player and a person while hopefully contributing to the continued success of the Ospreys."

Tebaldi has been a regular in the PRO12 since the arrival of the Italians into the league three seasons ago, featuring consistently for both Aironi and now Zebre.

In total, he made 47 appearances for Aironi over two seasons of PRO12 and Heineken Cup rugby, scoring 93 points - including four tries - and was ever present in the league during 2011/12.

To date this season he has made a total of 16 appearances for Zebre, the new Italian franchise, scoring 22 points (four tries).

He also has 16 international caps to his name, scoring three points, since making his debut against Australia in Canberra during the Azzurri's 2009 tour Down Under.

So 1 week after crying destitute the Ospreys sign a player. Funny also how the Welsh have spent the last god knows how long crying fowl of the French clubs 'steeling' their players. Maybe the Italians feel the same about this move.

An offer from Ospreys couldn't have been turned down by Tebaldi (almost by anybody, actually), but his move will leave poor Zebras without their most consistent player.

Found money to sign another foreigner who won't be able to play for Wales. Well done the O's.

Interesting move, for both Ospreys and Tebaldi.
