Veteran Italy centre Gonzalo Canale will miss the upcoming Tests against Tonga, New Zealand and Australia after tearing muscles in his right thigh.
The Italian Rugby Federation said in a statement that Canale suffered the injury during training ahead of this weekend's Test against Tonga in Brescia and will be sidelined for three weeks.
That rules the 77-Test veteran out of the match against the All Blacks in Rome on November 17, along with the Test against Australia in Florence a week later.
A replacement for Argentine-born Canale was not immediately announced.
