well with Goosen out... he should dare to play Lambie or whoever if he wants to play Rugby.

But then: JdV and Frans are lightyears behund the like sof SBW and whiever the ABs would have fielded next to him - Smith, Nonu, you name them!

The Truth us, the bokke today are lacking backs to play an exciting game, forwards to dominate the opposition and halfs with a special extra.

It doesnt get better, if the coach is a kick'n'runner.

So far 5 games played 3 wins and 2 draws and now the guy who most Saffas wanted as coach is a clown! Typical. Sometimes I think people write what ever comes to mind and more often than not, very similar to the boks v pumas, they play the man and not the ball.

Some high class coaches blogging here!!!

What Meyer has to learn is, how to use his players in a effective manner.

I think its harsh saying the The pumas were more comitted, Argentina's technique will have Steve Hansen sitting up and taking notice. I was really impressed because usually the all blacks are streets ahead of anyone else at ruck time but The Pumas have set up a mouth watering battle in rounds 3 and 4. NZ's gauntlet has been picked up. Now its really important that the IRB get the right referee in for these two tests. Someone who won't assume that Argentina are cheating if they are living with NZ. we all know that NZ should win on paper but as a neutral I want to see them given a fair crack at the whip. I'm sure Kiwi fans feel the same way.

Back to the boks, its a huge wake up call as far as the ruck goes, becasue I'm thinking that NZ would have won both tests if their rucking isn't improved. I'm still thinking that they have a massive learning curve on their hands but at least we all know that its on the radar and that SA are worried about it as well.

Its going to be embarrassing.

What an absolute dud, SA rugbys worst nightmare has come to pass.

How do you develop youngsters if you don't let them play at this level? Obviously HM has scant regard for SANZAR edict of playing the strongest team possible!

It doesn't matter which players he picks, he will still coach the boring, predictable 90's game he always does.

What a dilemma to be in.... pick young exciting players and lose a few matches (less acceptable?) or stick with the ten man rugby exponents (more acceptable?) a keep grinding out wins against the Wallabies and Argentina. Should Heyneke Meyer go with the young exciting players, I am sure that the RSA rugby community will forgive a few losses.

He's right in his comment about not underestimating Los Pumas. Also, he shouldn't really be in this predicament. Bismark du Plessis should've been the first choice hooker for the Boks immediately following RWC '07. Their failure to thank John Smit for a job well done and send him to his golden years contract in Europe has cost the Boks dearly as they now try to play catch up in terms of building chemistry for their unfortunately 'new' first xv. PDV put them 4 years behind by not starting basically from scratch after their victorious campaign of 2007. Their sentimentality in letting those players stick around for the Lions tour of '09 has cost them moving forward in attempt to keep pace w/ the AB's.

We were all a little worried about it but now its coming to fruition.... SURELY HM wouldnt play 2008 kick chase rugby would he ??? but from the moment he started selecting players the game plan was obvious.

where are the game breakers ? The ABs combine rugged mobile forwards with daring backline players. We have plenty of both and yet we get Flip vd Merwe and NikNaks ?

I refuse to watch the next few games as im sure this conservative approach will continue and i have better things to do with my time than swear at the TV. I wont be the only one, soon it will start to hit SARU in the pocket and then we will get the change we need.

SA LONGS FOR A GOOD COACH !! MALLET SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND HELP OUT !!

Correct me if im wrong ,but isnt he supposed to PICK players not just coach them,or is someone else picking his teams??I rather dought that someone else is picking his teams ,which means he refuses to to pick the best inform players for their posistions. But trys to bash square pegs into round holes so to speak. .Also his refusal to even look at expanding a very limited gameplan means he isnt much of a coach imho, might be ok for club or provincle ,but at international leval NO WAY as you have to adapt your tatics ect year on year.,campaign by campaign ,nearly match by match Also whats this rubbish about an inexperianced SA side ,what utter BS ,how can he get away with saying such falsehoods .He drops in my estimation virtually every week talking such nonesense,at least PDV was funny.

Inexperience of the team? How does he get away with saying these things? Let's look at the first XV shall we? The majority have been playing together for many years, some have even seen two world cups now.

Players that have experienced two world cups: Bryan Habana, Jean de Villiers, Frans Steyn, Jannie du Plessis, Bismarck du Plessis

Players that have been in the Springbok squad for at least 2 years: Morné Steyn, Francois Hougaard, Willem Alberts, Tendai Mtawarira, Adriaan Strauss, Andries Bekker, Zane Kirchner, Lwazi Mvovo

New guys: Marcell Coetzee, Eben Etzebeth, Jacques Potgieter

So the completely inexperienced South African side can boast 5 players that have experienced two world cups, and they even won one of them! And all the rest, apart from 3, have had international experience for at least 2 years. When you think about it, this is quite an experienced side in comparison to many international teams. To be honest, experience is good but in that last game the two best performances from the Springboks came from Marcell Coetzee and Eben Etzebeth, the inexperienced ones. Perhaps this coach should stop making up excuses and use the vast talent that exists in South Africa. Many countries would love to have the young players coming through in South Africa at their disposal. Stop playing negative rugby, give youth a chance, and in a year or two they'd be world beaters.

Backs: Ludick, Aplon, JP Petersen, Habana, Mvovo, de Jongh, de Villiers, F Steyn, Ebershon / Jordaan, Lambie, Goosen, Pienaar, Hougaard, Pretorius

Forwards: Oosthiuzen, Strauss, Mtawarera, J du Plessis, Cilliers, Burden, Etzbeth, Bekker, J Kruger, Bakkies Botha, Brussouw, Alberts, Vermeulen, Marcel Coetzee, Daniel, Kankowski.

That is assuming Brussouw and Oosthuizen are available, If not, put WP Nel or Kitshoff and Josh Strauss in (as Kolisi, Smith, Burger are also out). For Bakkies, the alternatives are Johan Muller or Ryan Elstedt in my opinion.

This is a far more balanced side that has the ability to attack and defend. It has scavengers and ball carriers and has the ability to counter. I would really be excited to see Steyn and Ebershon outside Goosen with JP and Habana running amok with all the ball they would get. Ludick would be able to hit the line and act as impact player on 50 minutes replacing Lambie.

Now is that so hard Mr Meyer?
