Ulrich, nice to hear someone who isn't English say something genuine, worthwhile and which isn't intended to provoke. You could also have mentioned the fact that England have lost some key players e.g. Wood, Croft and Lawes - the latter being arguably our best scrum player and 2nd row. We need Courtney back !

APV1, I haven't been able to watch any of the games, been snowed under at work. The scoreline of the 1st test suggested a close game but all the rightups seem to indicate a comfortable victory for the Boks, with England not able to cope with the 2nd half physicality.

What's your take on it ?

I'm a saffa. It took Jake White I think 3 years to turn the tide on England with a young side. Considering its your first season under Lancaster and whilethe Bok team was about 300-400 caps short of their golden era lineup we still had 400 odd caps. England are doing a phenomenal job playing so well down south. Be patient supporters od England. Hopefully Heineke will also think to the future sufficiently enough.

I keep thinking back to Richard Hill's guest column on PR this time last year. One of the points he stressed was the fact that you don't need a "traditional" 6, 7 and 8, but three players whos' skills compliment each other:

Would be a bit of a dilemma if Wood Croft and Armitage were available now. And don't forget Fourie. He's been unlucky but he's in the same mold as Armitage. I think finally England are getting a back row that is not worse than everyone elses. So I also expect improvement. But South Africa will play 80 minutes of how they played the 2nd half. Should be an exciting game. We should not expect a lot re the scoreboard until 3rd test up there. I will be happy with parity until the 65th minute. Then expect win in 3rd test

I hope he's right. I really expect great things from this England team (maybe unrealistically) and am sill waiting to see it. I waiting for it to click and gel. Fingers crossed that happens soon - I feel it's bubbling away just waiting to happen.

Very good interview from Robshaw ,and i echo@ NHsaints even though his not a natural 7 his doing an outstanding job as one..If only S.Armitage was playing (sigh!).Our backrow could be posativly outstanding with Robshaw Armitage and Morgon.England seem to have learnt quite a bit from the 1st test concerning test match intensity and passion ect .Lets hope they can improve for this Saturday ,and ,keep developing in the comming years .so far i havent been disappointed with England at all which is unusal to say the least LOL,and our best is still to come ,as they continue to improve every match by the looks of it so far .The long term goal is still the RWC in 2015 .But England i feel could be a force in world rugby maybe even in 2013 Looking at the U20s ect you can see a cohesive England style developing including our tradtional strong forward play with exciting skillfull backplay ,The big question is can we successfully combine the 2 ala New Zealand if so then watch out world

What's great is that despite people saying Robshaw wasn't standing out in the six nations and that he wasn't made for playing 7 he's playing exactly like a 7, tackle your socks off, win turnover/compete the breakdown and make a few carries. Not to mention there are so many players in this squad who still have years to improve and are still improving in leaps and bounds (Joseph, Tuilagi, Youngs, Farrel, Parling and Marler) and I don't think we've seen the strongest England side yet...I think we could in this coming test if Flood gets a fair bit of time running the game at 10 and we bring in Wade and Joseph to the starting lineup to replace the injuries...
