Sale Sharks ran six tries past Wasps in win 46-34 in their Aviva Premiership clash at Edgeley Park on Friday.

It was an amazing game which saw the teams cross the whitewash nine times between them.

In a manic first half, Sale led 25-14. They scored three tries in all from Sam Tuitupou (two) and Dwayne Peel with Nick Macleod adding 10 points.

Wasps hit back through the boot of Elliot Daly and a Dominic Waldouck try.

The Sharks scored further tries after the break through Andy Powell, Johnny Leota and Rob Miller.

However, substitute Joe Simpson darted for two late consolation scores for the visitors, but it couldn't stop them from succumbing to their ninth consecutive Aviva Premiership defeat.

It was Sale who struck first when Tuitupou powered over after a Tom Brady off-load, but Wasps hit back with three penalties from Daly.

The hosts continued to threaten and were rewarded when Peel went in at the corner.

However, a mistake by Powell allowed Waldouck to go over.

But a further score from Tuitupou and a two more three-pointers from Macleod saw the Sharks lead at the break.

The second period continued in the same vain. Daly did reduce the deficit once more, but tries from Powell and Leota saw Sale extend their advantage to 39-20 and seal the bonus-point.

Miller scampered over for the sixth before Wasps mounted a mini-recovery when Simpson crossed the whitewash for two consolation scores.

However, it wasn't enough and the hosts deservedly went away with the spoils to lift them back into the play-off picture.
