Neither do I agree with the banning: how on earth could you even think of playing rugby without a proper moustache?
If Yamanaka has enough guts, he should show up at the hearings with a huge (fake) one.

Poor guy, if these facts are true he really doesn't deserve a ban, those bans are fundamentally to stop people cheating in our (quite frankly awesome) game, this guy just wanted to grow a mo, perhaps the real crime is that he was cheating at growing a moustache.
He should be taken before a moustache/beard council and banned from facial hair for 2 years.

Supplements to not have to say that the ingredients in them are banned. They just have to list the ingredients in them. It is up to those taking the products to research the products and their ingredients.
Not to mention there had been a few recent bans issued in different sports due to athletes taking 1,3 DMAA. 1,3 DMAA isn't really a performance enhancer at all but they should have been more aware.

Depends on what the actual substance is. The coach / player might just be saying that it's from a hair growth cream. I know the IRB can make poor decisions, but I doubt they'd ban someone for two years because of a hair growth cream. There has to be more to it.

Can you imagine the size of the thing come the RWC and Mo-vember..? It'd be huge! It'd need a separate seat on the plane, such would it's enormity be.
Seriously, though. Banning him? Unless it actually does transfer into his system and becomes performance-enhancing, it's a joke.
Basson and Ralepelle got away with much worse. And Matt Stevens took drugs, got caught and paid his dues. But this? Laughable.

Even if the ingredient was on the tube, who cares? The only thing it'd help him do is have the most powerful smile in all of Japan. Give this kid a break, as everyone said the guys on the Boks got away with it and their story was a lot more suspect. But everyone knows Ralepelle is like a sacred cat to the Boks and the IRB thanks to their stupid ethnic quotas.
