Possibly good news:

"Leinster based Isa Nacewa has finally revealed that he wants to be part of the Flying Fijians team for the World Cup!

Nacewa the first overseas international to be named Ireland¿s player of the campaign has warned that Wales is in a rough ride in a World Cup pool, which also includes defending champions, South Africa, Fiji, Samoa and Namibia.

He added that if all the overseas based Fijian players all get together and get a bit of continuity, than Fiji should be a force to reckon with.

The 28 year old has until June 20 to make up his mind whether to join Fiji¿s assault on the World Cup.

Fiji will play against Samoa in the first PNC game on the 2nd of July."

Expect a unorthodox ruthless performance from the Flying Fijians come RWC time

Unstructured, entertaining, awesome, breathing rugby @ its very best

No wingers around the globe can be compared to the Flyings Fijians

Mana"s right : Smoking Joe & Siti are a testament to that by being in the All Blacks

@houston_11...Nicky Little has and always will be a loyal Fijian warrior on and off the field, with that in mind his name does deserve a place in the team, not sure where you're coming from mate, but its probably the same as Joe Rokocoko/Sitiveni Sivivatu in the ABs...pls enlighten us?

Great, another political debate on a rugby website. I don't hear too much about this because I'm from Europe. Bottom line is, dictator in, military personnel banned.... GET OVER IT! Decisions have been made - unless you're in a position to change this, stop bickering about it like bloody school kids and chat about the rugby.

p.s. The funniest thing I've read in this article is Nicky Little's name amongst the rest - it just doesn't fit in!

@ Jeke...I think Jeke is one of those puppets who believe in what Bani has done and will accept anything he says...The bottom line is, NZ and Oz should never ever allow anyone associated to this thug...as if Fiji has a chance of beating Oz or the ABs if they were in the same pool...What was the last scoreline btw the ABs and Fiji...around 90 and it was only a second string ABs team...so keep on praying and hope that the Boks do not turn up so that your beloved Fiji has a chance of making the Qtr's....your only chance is coming second behind the boks same as Wales and Samoa

@ Jeke its simple rid yourselves of you little dictator and the military can return to the team. However the Fiji team is welcome and we will be looking after them as we have supported Fiji in numerous ways over the years . Finally the IRB does not have control over who is acceptable in NZ it is the NZ government. If you dont believe this ask your mate Frank who told the Australian and NZ High Commissioners were no longer welcome in Fiji and expelled them. ISnt it more to do with the fact Frank and his brother in law the new boss of Fijian rugby cant come to the world cup really at the bottom of this not their concern for the team.

Nacewa has made himself unavailable for the World Cup and for playing for Fiji. This New Zealander of Fijian descent has an ongoing disagreement of what happened a number of years ago with Fijian rugby.

Keane,

He's declared himself unavailable, I believe, since his solitary cap. It is my understanding, again, that he does not want to play for Fiji, and only ever saw himself as a Kiwi (who now cannot vie for an All Black shirt). Word is he was treated to some grave misinformation prior to that one cap for Fiji. Some ugly business, by the sounds of it.

Watch out Wales and South Africa, Fiji have the makings of one hell of a team here: Bobo, Nagusa, Naqelevuki and Nalaga contesting the wing spots, Rabeni, Bai, Vuivuli and Lovobalavu the options at centre with an experienced fly half in the shape of Nicky Little pulling the strings.

A backrow comprising Koyamaibole, Qera, Talei and Matagdigo would be a frightening prospect.

With Rawaqa, Ma'afu and Manu in the front five, Fiji could really rattle a few cages.

Does anyone know the story with Nacewa? Has he declared himself unavailable like Caucau or what? He could add real guile to that backline; real shame if he didn't go.

Jeke how can you be a traitor when you oppose an illegal government. The traitor is Bainimarama who overthrew a legitimately elected government and seized power for himself. Jeke are you prepared to legitimise this petty little dictator who imprisons and beats up anyone who opposes him who censors the press and has influenced changes in the judiciary. If the head of the armed forces in your country overthrew your own democratically elected government because he didnt agree with their decisions would you accept it?

I will say again the Fiji team is welcome in NZ as were the 7s team members minus the military and will not be banned from attending,. They will be given a warm welcome and looked after well by the NZ people as the argument is not against the Fijian people but the illegal government of a military dictator who is holding his countrymen to ransome. You see Jeke we have some standards in this argument and the present NZ Government and the previous one of different politica persuasions are to be commended for this stand. Bainimarama has it in his own hands keep the promise he made of announcing a swift return to a democratically elected civilian government.

Caucau has a long, long way to go still to show his professionalism, and Nacewa is presently no Fijian, in spite of that single cap.

Missing two of its best players Caucau and Nacewa... its a shame!

Ramage says...

Hmmm 43 players to be picked from not bad for a country who cant afford tos end a team or are considering not participating in the World Cup. Must mean there arent that many Army personnel or henchmen of dictator Bainimarama who cant be picked. Well done Fiji you will be most welcome in NZ and will be well looked after. Now all we have to do is rid you of your feral dictator.
