London Welsh hooker Neil Briggs has been cited for alleged foul play in his side's Aviva Premiership clash with Harlequins at the Kassam Stadium.
Briggs was reported by independent citing officer John Byett for punching or striking Quins wing Sam Smith during Sunday's fixture in Oxford.
The case will be heard by a three-man RFU panel under the chairmanship of Jeremy Summers.
Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea had criticised referee Llyr ApGeraint-Roberts for his performance during the game that his side won.
