Bryan Habana Toulon top 14 2013

Determined: Bryan Habana

Toulon's flying Springbok winger Bryan Habana says he and his teammates are eyeing up an historic Top 14 and Heineken Cup double.

Currently topping the domestic league table, Toulon face Munster in the semi-finals of the last-ever Heineken Cup this weekend. No French side has ever pulled off such a feat.

"Toulon have got into the Top 14 final twice in the last couple of years and lost both and as special as the Heineken Cup was last year it definitely is a tall ask of any player to go on and win two finals in consecutive weekends," said Habana.

"But that's the beauty of this game, if you want to be seen as the best in the world.

"If you want to be part of a club that can create history you've got to lay down everything on the line every weekend.

"Doing the double would be something amazing, something historic. I think everyone at this club would love to be a part of that. So we're definitely going to be going all out."

Habana is far from the only Bok in a multinational squad on the Cote D'Azur, joined by the likes of Danie Rossouw and Jean Smith, but his tenure at Toulon has been blighted by hamstring injuries.

Fans of Exeter Chiefs will recall the prolific winger pulling up in agony at Sandy Park during the pool stages of the European tournament.

"It's been a pretty frustrating four months, it's been the longest injury break in my career," admitted Habana.

"I got back and played 70 minutes two weeks ago, sat out last week with a bit of tendinitis, but I'm feeling good and hopeful along with the Toulon medical staff that I'll be good to go for the weekend."
