Australian rugby is too far stretched, not enough talent coming through - a few injuries and it's all over. The rebels & to some degree the force is too many teams for the pool of players available, take Cipriani as a prime example of desperate player recruitment. As for the Reds, never seen a team go from Champs to Chumps so quickly.

Jonesy may hav a point about the Bulls tho... they are crap tourists and there is every chance they cld lose even against this average Tahs side. Also Sharks are tough to beat as always but certainly are not the team of old....with the Reds starting find some zip at least two teams are looking alright but no denying the tough conference this year is in NZ.

@ Jonsey2 - That will explain why the Rebels, Force, Reds and Warratahs are in the bottom half of the table and Brumbies 3rd only by luck of conference system.

Got another stat for ya Jonesy!! The OZ teams are a combined 6 wins from 23 games against SA and NZ opposition! That's roughly a winning record of 25%. I wait with interest to see how you can defend that sort of record ;)

@ Jonesy - dude have you actually been watching the rugby?? The Australian conference is woefully weak this year. Injuries are no excuse because a good team has the depth to cover. Lets be clear the Reds, Warratahs, Force and Rebels are all in the bottom half of the table occupying 4 of the bottom 7 spots. The Brumbies are better and are a good team to watch, playing good rugby BUT even they (based on points) are only ranked 5th. Not to mention the fact that most of the points these OZ teams have acquired are through playing each other. Sorry mate but claiming the OZ conference is anything but the weakest in the tournament is laughable.

@jonesy2 dude r u wth r u talkin bwt that the RSA conference is weaker than the aussie. Mate u hv lost it a bit, if it wasn't 4 some technicality the brumbies would be 5th n that's the aussie top team. If things carry ob the way they do we are looking @ 3 nz teams, 2 RSA and only 1 aussie team. the aussie conference is by far the easiest conference wathcin an aussie derby is like watchin a rerun of the bold n the beautiful. There is absolutely no passion and intensity in those matches unlike the nz/rsa derby matches. Stop watchin rugby with beer goggles and watch it in a sober state of mind and u might actually see how wrong u are

My picks for this week (and I'll have you know I've been having most right lately :P) is as follows:
Lions to beat Blues,
Waratahs to beat Bulls,
Highlanders to beat Hurricanes,
Crusaders to beat Rebels,
Sharks to beat Force,
Stormers to beat Cheetahs,
Reds to beat Chiefs.
I have specific reasons for all of them, but won't bore you with the details - I just want to measure myself against this dude. :P

oh but yeah only 2 or 3 of these predictions arent the stupidest predictions ive ever seen. lions to beat the blues? riiiight. even if you think the bulls are going to beat the tahs which they wont, 8 points? youre high as a kite.

im baffled by this pseudo idealogy that the australia conference is the weakest. the SA conference is far weaker. lions and cheetahs the worst teams in super rugby, bulls, sharks on a par with the injured waratahs and revamped brumbies, stormers maybe level with the reds with the reds with the injuries, without injuries... forget about it.
