Danger man: Toby Faletau

Dragons number eight Toby Faletau has been identified as his side's danger man ahead of their New Year's Eve PRO12 derby with the Ospreys.

The 22-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Bath, was the man-of-the-match in the Dragons' Boxing Day defeat to Cardiff Blues and Ospreys forwards coach Jonathan Humphreys believes he is one of the world's best players in his position.

"I think the kid is a world-class player," Humphreys told the BBC.

"Those sort of things are bandied around quite generously but I don't think it is with him."

Faletau was one of Wales' best players during their run to last year's Rugby World Cup semi-final and their triumphant Six Nations campaign earlier this year.

Humphreys revealed that despite Faletau's attacking capabilities, the PRO12 champions do not intend to man-mark him.

"I don't think you can," he said.

"If you double-mark him you are compromised elsewhere. I remember him going from his own 22 metre to our 22 last year on a simple missed tackle.

"He is a genuinely world-class player. He has to be treated as such but we have players who should do what they are supposed to do and so hopefully he won't get another man-of-the-match award."
