The Pumas are boring to watch and always have been. I've watched them plenty of times before. There's no generalising about it. It's the way they play to compete with the big boys, i can't blame them really but it's the truth.
Sure i agree with the rest of what you say. But why can't we judge them now? They are a boring ass side

gowalesgo - I don't agree. He wasn't just replying to George Smith. He made an over-generalised observation. However, I also wouldn't say Argentina are bold and unpredictable - at least, not yet. My point was that you can't say a team is always boring and you're judging Argentina too soon. It's like saying the French are always exciting to watch.
How many games have Argentina played in this competition so far ? Lets give them a chance and see what they can do against say Canada, Italy or Japan after a few more matches against the likes of the All Blacks. If Argentina don't open up their game more at that stage and in that situation, then I'm prepared to eat my words.

Nah he's completely right.
He was replying to georgesmith who said that they are "exciting bold and unpredictable".
That is utterly wrong they are the opposite of that!
The Argentina rugby team AT THE MOMENT play a boring, static and one dimensional game. They have a solid defence and they rely on spoiling the rucks. They never create chances for themselves to score, instead relying on the opposition to make mistakes and they kick the leather of the ball.
Though to be fair they aren't any more boring to watch than the South Africans.
In a few years i expect them to develop a new style. They don't have the size to keep playing the way they do and have success anywhere away from home.

amaboko - that's a very negative comment and you're basically saying that in every single game Argentina play, they will always play the same way. Your word was 'unidimensional'. I think you're being grossly unfair. Argentina are now in a competition against SA, the Aussies and the All Blacks. I'm not sure what you expect from them but you should (a) give them time and (b) judge them when you've seen them play weaker nations as well as the strong ones. I'll bet you'll see a very different Argentina against the weaker nations, once Argentina have had the time to up their game and learn lessons from very tough games against the likes of the All Blacks.
To Argentinians reading this, as an England fan, I'm used to comments which are designed to bait and not to offer anything constructive. But it looks like you guys are going to get the same sort of comment now as well.
I hope it doesn't put you off making comments on Planet Rugby. There ARE people out there who'll read what you say, treat it seriously and offer worthwhile comments.

We love our Pumas in Argentina. We believe that they represent our best. Our goa. for this tournament is to convince the other three countries (to whom we are very grateful) that they did not make a mistake. That they have to bring their A game to beat us. That in 5 years, when the Pumas are contenders for the Championship, all three members of SANZAR can take some pride for having helped to develop a new powerbouse. Too ambitious?

Only the Pumas second game and they almost beat the boks...Should have beaten the boks! They looked so dominant for most of the match and you would have to say that SA were lucky to sneak in with a draw. Argentina vs Australia will be a good one to watch!

I think that to join this fantastic competition will be great for Argentinian rugby. They won't become world beaters overnight but they'll improve as the Italians are doing by joining the 6 Nations. But, though I'm English and would love to say the 6N is the better competition, I don't think it is. The technical and physical play in the SH competition is better - just my own view and yes, we'll see great games in the 6N and poor ones in the SH.
The game needs a strong Argentina side to popularise the sport in Latin America.

If only the Pumas have depth, I feel they can take this tournament by storm. They might not win it but just like the World Cup last year, they are exciting, bold and unpredictable.
Really great performance and they have the fighting spirit to defend well, which is great.
