jonesy2 - not criticising Mealamu, but I'd be reluctant to call him the greatest - presume you are basing this on his number of test caps for NZ?
If that's the only measure, well, yes, but then add this in - he has (using ESPN database) started in 65 tests, the rest as subs. Sean Fitzpatrick by comparison is listed as playing 92, starting 91 of them - he 'owned' the position' more then KM ever has.
While KM has played he's had Andrew Hore to contend with - started the same year 2002 and AH has 66 caps, and they both overlapped with Anton Oliver who played on till 2007, 59 caps.
For me, the influence and contribution to the game from Fitzpatrick is more relevant, and more memorable, than that of KM's, in terms of defining 'great'. But that's just my opinion.
And apart from that as Taranaki fan, I am totally biased! More game time for Andrew Hore!

kev basically becomes the greatest ever hooker this weekend. well done, what a legend.
am assuming you have not seen FITZY play, hence the above comment :) Remember one incident when he lost a front tooth and came off the park after 80 and showed the tooth to the camera. The commentators words i still remember ;
"mrs. fitzpatric is not going to be pleased about that !!"
KM is a very good player but SF is the legend, just like Jonah Lomu , Zinzan Brooke , Michael Jones , et al.

Lets hope he tries to scrum legally and if he can still compete that way, or otherwise he will be penalised off the park. He is more like an Aussie prop really so it will be a lottery for the NH ref on who to penalise. Maybe 30 penalties this week, many of those at scrum time.

Great line-up by S. Hansen. Very experienced, not invincible though.. But on the flip side, it is an ageing team that can probably be outclassed by a team of young, energetic and dynamic players. To edge this ABs team, you need to beat them at pace and intensity.
