Former Hurricanes back Jayden Hayward has signed with the Western Force for the next two Super Rugby seasons.
Hayward, 25, is the third overseas player to sign with the Force under new coach Michael Foley and joins former Cheetahs fly-half Sias Ebersohn and former Blues scrum-half Alby Mathewson.
"Jayden's been a frontline centre for Taranaki in the ITM Cup over a number of years and is a young player determined for regular game time in Super Rugby," Foley said.
"He's a player that provides versatility in the centres."
Hayward has represented both the Highlanders and Hurricanes at Super Rugby level.

All positive common sense comments... except for Isograford... Where would players like this be able to work at their potential and earn without teams like the Force. This is a global game. One only has to look at european rugby to see the clear benefits of this kind of recruiting. Australia has around 40000 registered players; NZ about 140000. Obvioulsy there is going to be a huge amount of excess players. Why is there not the same comments regarding Kiwis playing in Europe such as, dare I say. Donald? ;)

Will he still be available for the Naki when super rugby season finishes?

Haywards defence is pretty poor (watch the Naki game recently against Wellington for example)- hence why he never got regular game time at the Highlanders or the Canes. However its good move out west for him to get more time on the field etc

We all know aus don't have the depth to maintain 5 teams so its logical to look else where. At the end of the day nz have a ton of talented players who will go to waste if not used. So to be honest good on those players for looking for other options. If you can't get imployment in one place you look for options in another.

Tough times Ferdie - no shield either.
Hayward and Willison have been my two centre picks for the future but both have had poor runs from the S15 coaches so both have left and fair enough - your window is only a few years to hit the big time. Pleased to see others agree.

It's good to see New Zealands 6th Franchise get another quality player lol.
C'mon Australia, this is getting ridiculous!

bit slow PR - this was announced 26 October, as per my post of that day "Force have also signed NZ/Taranaki/Hurricanes 12 Jayden Hayward for two seasons. Less of a loss for Hurricanes - he is their 4th choice midfielder behind Conrad Smith, Bateman, Leiua, but a massive loss for Taranaki's ITM team, having played 59 consecutive matches for them since 2008. Can't blame him for leaving due to lack of Super game-time, but another one pillaged from the provinces - this week we lost prop Michael Bent to Leinster, now the mainstay of the backline."

Top signing - if he can keep a regular run on position and stays uninjured he will be a revelation. IMO he has stacks of potential that has been unused at the HL and Canes. Perth is a great place to live too with a climate even Naki cant match!
