Gloves on: Quade Cooper

Reds head coach Richard Graham has no problems with Quade Cooper continuing his boxing career next season.

Cooper, who won his 50th cap for the Wallabies against Wales last week, could schedule his next fight for inbetween trial matches for the Reds in the build-up to the new Super Rugby season.

The 25-year-old won his first fight earlier this year with a first-round stoppage.

"Quade handled the situation last year. I have no issues [with Cooper continuing boxing]," said Graham.

"I think physically it keeps him in really good condition. Over the years, he has learned a lot of self-discipline. I think he has really matured, and that has reflected in his performances the last few weeks."

Commenting on Cooper's recent form, Graham highly praised his number ten for his performances during the November Tests.

Cooper was named Man of the Match after Australia's 30-26 win over Wales in Cardiff.

"Quade has been outstanding on this tour," added Graham.

"He is confident and when he is you see the full array of skills that he has got; I think that makes us a better team.

"Quade has been a leader here for the last three or four years by the nature of his position [but] Horwill has captained the team very well. There is no reason in my mind to change the captaincy."
