Reds will 'get back on the horse'

Reds: Down, but not out

Reds Director of Coaching Ewen McKenzie has vowed that his side will bounce back from their disappoint loss to the Brumbies on Saturday.

The 2011 champions were soundly beaten by their Australian rivals in Canberra but McKenzie was adamant they will do better in their first home game against the Waratahs next Saturday.

"We are disappointed with the outcome but the challenge for next week doesn't change," said McKenzie after the 24-6 loss.

"You need to be good at flicking the switch and moving on to the next opportunity. If you fall off the horse you get back on it and keep going. We've already started work on the Waratahs.

"There were aspects of our defence that I was pleased with and that is always a very good indicator to where the team is at attitudinally," McKenzie said.

"One of the things you talk about at pre-season on day one is that you want to get your defence right and then you build your attack. I've got no doubt our attack will improve.

"But, in the end, they were able to generate enough pressure and when you start playing catch-up you start pushing things. You saw that with the intercept at the end.

"When it was 8-6 [at half-time] it was anyone's game at that point, but you get down to the little moments which allowed them to get in front and then we had to chase."

Trinats, the Reds of a couple of seasons ago are a distant memory, and have not looked likely since, whilst this may hurt the Reds fans, sadly it is a fact.

Not only did Cooper not make a difference to their attack, but from what I saw he was directly responsible for the Brumbies last try. I think he is just trying to make the magic happen, rather than wait for the right moment.

I would pick the Waratahs to win by 8 points! The reds looked hopeless. Quade Cooper didn't make a difference to their attack. They never looked like scoring a try.

Unlike you to have a negative say on the Reds !

Hard to find a horse when you run out of troops !

First game of the season, away from home and against one of the top teams. I'm not getting my knickers in a twist just yet, come April and we haven't won a game, I might then.

Reds v Brumbies in the final this year !

The Reds barely found the horse, let alone got on it all last season, and this season looks to be no different.
