18-year-old Ardie Savea will join older brother Julian in the Super Rugby ranks next season, after signing with the Hurricanes for two years.
The loose forward has signed with the franchise while competing in his first ITM Cup campaign with the Wellington Lions, and after starring on the World Sevens Series circuit with New Zealand.
In his debut provincial season, he has scored six tries in his eight appearances for Wellington - bringing some of that Sevens flair to his style of play.
"It's awesome to be a part of the Hurricanes. When I was little I watched Jonah and some greats in the Canes jersey, so I feel very honoured to get this opportunity," said Ardie.

his club (Oriental Rongotai) profile says he started playing rugby in under-sevens, aged five, early starter! Captain school 1st XV for 2yrs, captain NZ schools last year, and Head Boy of the Rongotai College. He has already played for the Hurricanes but not an official match - the 'exhibition match v Queensland Reds in June this year.
Hopefully a bright future for him, expect that being in Huuricanes may keep him out of U-20s next year though.

He looks outstanding at times, although still huge holes in his game. Great signing for the Canes for next season though!

He is still only 18, should have picked him for the U20s this year. A lot of u20s we could have picked we didn't this year. We always seem to be keen to fight with one hand behind our back. Perenara would not of hurt himself playing for the Canes in a game.with nothing on it.

you can just tell this kid is going to be an absolute machine, next jerry collins or better perhaps. ive found the younger sibling is not always but usually better than the older one in sports circles.
