All Black hopeful: Jordan Taufua

Crusaders loose forward Jordan Taufua has rejected the lure of a lucrative overseas move in favour of chasing an All Blacks jersey.

Taufua's performances in Super Rugby this year have attracted the attention of a number of overseas clubs but, while Crusaders team-mates George Whitelock and Andy Ellis have accepted Japanese deals, the 108kg back rower has extended his contract in Christchurch by a further two seasons.

"I'm only 22 and overseas is always going to be there," Taufua told The Press.

"I want to know I have given it my all to try and make the ABs."

"You get those things when you play one good game or a couple of good games - other clubs start hitting you up. But everything will take care of itself if you just play good rugby.

"Playing for the ABs is the dream, I would like to get there. They are the team I want to play for.

"Every game I play I just want to go out there like it's my last. There's no better way to learn than by getting consistent game-time."
