How is turning down playing for your country in the rugby championship to play in Japan for 1.5 million not being a mercenary?!?!? WHATEVER puppet SBW and the puppet master Khoder Nasser!

even if it is about the money, Japans rugby is going to boom with all these players going there, which is never a bad thing

"Like I said if I ever came back to New Zealand I wouldn't play for anyone else other than the Chiefs and if I ever went back to France it'd be tough to play for any other club, other than Toulon."

And I'd never play for anyone but the bulldogs.... Yeah Right!

It's always about the money. But SBW need not be blamed for it. A world-class gifted athlete like him deserves the best and that's what he should get. I'd love to see him off-load in the NRL next year. Good luck SBW. God bless you.

I think he is an interesting phychological case. He is afraid to complete anything he starts, he refuses to fight to become the best 12 in rugby union. He relishes the prospect to be potentially the # 1 (he is not yet), but he fears not to succeed at the end. He starts lots of things, I bet he has never completed one.

Make as much money as you SBW - you're a long time retired in sport (& not earning).

The man is extremely talented, and I give him full credit. But to claim that its not all about the $$$$$ is just a bloody lie. It is but its money he deserves, he is a "rugby soldier of fortune" If I had his talent, I would do the same thing.

Whatever money Bill ... I suppose going to Japan was to experience rugby at another level and experience the culture and blah blah blah $$$$$$$$$
