Hope English clubs get him over. Nice replacement for our last Kenyan lock Shaw.

@ powerplay : "umaga has an eye for upcoming players" - not correct mate. SBW was already a hit in LEAGUE and big things were expected of him , just like from say SAvea now with ABs. in fact it was a major controversey when he left the 'dogs.
if memory serves me right, his first international was for a barbarians team at 12 , whereas in league he was a second row!

The Bulls management let two future players slip away (CJ Stander and Daniel). They put their faith into Jacques Potgieter which is not even close to the talent CJ is. So now time will tell if this was a good move or not...

it won't be money - the Counties Manukau player contracts for 2010's ITM cup (latest I could find) totalled $943,020 - that is 483,000 GBP for the whole squad. The NZRU has a salary cap limit of 1.35 million per squad but most unions, such as C-M are well under this.
If SBW had, as was suggested a while back, signed for Waikato in ITM the most they could pay him was NZ$60,000 30,700GBP.
Good to see a SA player such as Daniel Adongo in the comp, just 4mths from his life whatever the payment is, and hopefully good for his future.

There are financial benefits for Adongo at Counties??
Hardly! This move is all about developing his rugby otherwise he could have followed the money to Europe!
