We are so pleased - Warburton

Wales flank Sam Warburton getting man of the match award

Top effort: Sam Warburton

Recalled flanker Sam Warburton was pleased to play a part in Wales' 28-18 victory over Scotland, which saw him pick up the man-of-the-match award.

The 24-year-old Cardiff Blues openside put in an impressive effort that helped the Welsh set up a Six Nations Championship decider with England.

His fine performance also gave his chances of making the plane for the upcoming British and Irish Lions squad a massive shot in the arm.

"It's a brilliant win and we are so pleased. We knew it would be tough as it is always tough up here but we are delighted with the win," he said.

"I did not really feel I had a point to prove, I just wanted to get straight back in and make sure we won.

"We are lucky to have a fantastic squad which is very competitive and I am glad to be back in a winning team.

"(Assistant coach) Shaun Edwards has emphasised our defence every week, he is a superb defence coach and he wanted us to stop Scotland, and we are delighted to have gone another game without conceding a try."

A great player who played well, but I have to protest the comment "Shaun Edwards has emphasised our defence every week, he is a superb defence coach and he wanted us to stop Scotland" ....

Scotland don't attack, so there is not really anything to defend. I hope Wales paste England next week, English bookies had england at 100-1 ON to win against Italy, f'ing disrespectful. That alone deserves a beating .....

I think you may well have dan lydiate being picked, if he makes his announced return.

Do not discount Ryan Jones either, as he palys 6, 8, and covers back 5.

Have to agree thought he was best player on the park yesterday. Totally justified his inclusion and proved that class is permanent and form is temporary. Wales will need to step it up against England next weekend, but hey they are slowly improving.

Scotland need to learn how to cleanout rucks more effectively. Brown is a good player, but the balance of the Scottish backrow is off. For France they need a genuine openside. Euan Murray definitely has to go, as his time is well and truly up.
