@ heart_of_oak - I had a similar translation from the interweb. I commented on a different thread that by writing in Afrikaans, his point will be lost on a lot of people, as this is an English language site. Perhaps his English is so poor that he doesn't understand and that's why he's joining in. Bless him.
And as for your YouTube subscription, I just wish you would post videos of yourself - it does put one off their cornflakes, you know?!

APV1, the Widdecombe wiggle, eh ? I think it could be on youtube in the 'horror and extreme depravity' section, where I am of course a frequent visitor.
As for the chap writing in Afrikaans, I understand a bit of it as Mrs Heart-of-oak is Dutch and there are similarities. He's saying something like (and I paraphrase) 'English rugby is one big problem so there's no point in saying anything'. It struck me as another tired and pointless post from another ten-a-penny England hater whose own country page must be very dull.

Dowson in and Haskell out???? Weird.
Shame about Strettle - he was on fire when he first played for England, no-one could lay a hand on the guy, but a succession of injuries then wrecked what would have been his best years. I'm a fan of his and I have to admit he has done nothing since coming back recently.

@ heart_of_oak - Attwood had a good season overall, amongst a fairly average Bath team (ouch, that hurt to admit!).
And I think you were a little too hasty declining the "Widdicombe Wiggle" - it's a corker!
@ badza - again, what's with the Afrikaans?

TVaddict - I followed your link about Nick Wood and I see that the poor chap was born in Swindon. To have that cross to bear, as well as not being selected for either squad, has got to be really tough.

Cheers, forgot May though! Probably some others I've unintentionally left out too. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Attwood in general, just in my opinion has played his best lately. Nick Wood plays at 1 for Gloucester, and he's often been touted for an England call, here's some info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Wood

TVaddict - also, where do you get Nick wood from ? Don't you mean Tom Wood and if so, you can't compare him with Corbs.

TVaddict - that's a good looking squad but I'm not convinced of what you say about Attwood. I'm certain APV1 would tell you Attwoods performances have been good all season. You'll never get 100% agreement from all of us to everything though. Except perhaps when I was offered a lap dance from the lovely Ann Widdecombe and declined.
I guess on balance we can't complain. As for Armitage and Attwood, they have to keep on putting in good performances and their time will come.

@heart_of_oak
To be fair, Attwood wasn't in form in the second half of the season.
Also, although I admit haven't seen that much of Nick Wood, from what I have seen I haven't been amazed by his performances. I feel he brings the same about as Corbisiero, but Corbisiero is about six years younger.
I'm seeing the future England team as:
1) Marler/Corbisiero/?
2) Hartley/Webber/Youngs
3) Cole/Doran Jones/?
4) Lawes/Garvey/Palmer
5) Parling/Robson/Kitchener
6) Croft/Wood/Robshaw
7) Robshaw/Armitage/Haskell
8) Morgan/Waldrom/Haskell
9) Youngs/Care/Simpson/Dickson (SO many options)
10) Flood/Farrell/Ford/Burns
11) Foden/Wade/Benjamin
12) Tuilagi/Barrett/Farrell/Twelvetrees
13) Joseph/Tuilagi/Lowe
14) Ashton/Sharples/Joseph
15) Brown/Foden/Goode
Where we use different combinations against different types of teams. For example, against more back orientated teams like Wales and Australia I'd start with Marler at 1, Croft at 6 and Morgan at 8, but against more forward orientated teams like Scotland and South Africa I'd start Corbisiero at 1, Wood at 6 and Waldrom at 8.

Why is Dave Attwood continually ignored by SL ? I'm generally positive re what SL has done but I believe that Attwood is one of the best locks in the country.
"we will pick players on form"....

Echo the calls for S.Armitage ,but SLs hands are tied becuase of STUPID RFU policy. No players playing outside England ,so short sighted and has failed every time so far when tried by Wales,Scotland and others.I also would love to see D.Attwood ,N.Wood and T.Hommer in the squads. As for J.Haskell i feel his returning to finish the S15 season has more to do with him being in the Saxons rather thanEPS.But as SL and co have said their will be alot of movement between the 2 squads for the forcesable future, and im sure Heathcoate Mathrews ect will get call ups this season at least to the Saxons atm its all about developing depth for England, then finding winning combinations of inform players.I must admit i do think the Tulagi- Joseph centre combination holds alot of promise.,and a back 3 of Foden -Goode and Brown i wouldnt be surprised to see sometime this year if all keep inform.,with maybe Ashton comming off the bench into outside centre as impact in the second half .

I can'tquite believe the likes of Botha and Barritt continually get picked ahead of Attwood and Twelvetrees.

It was nice to see some of Lancaster's bold selections come off and those players deserve their subsequent callups.
I think many have noted that Steffon Armitage should be given a chance and perhaps it will come next season. It would be hard to call him an elite player though when he hasn't actually been playing for England of late.
Dumptackle rugby blog produced a pretty good review of england's summer tour on their site if anyone is interested. They made some good points about the potential of Alex Goode and how his ability as a second receiver much like israel Dagg and Kurtley Beale, could help improve the balance of England's attack in the long term.

Firstly, I agree with everyone about Armitage. What has he done to offend the coaches? I suppose we have quite a lot of depth at flanker already, but still.
I feel we need to develop some depth at 3 as although Cole is world class if he gets injured who would fill his place? Stevens?!
I also feel we need to develop some more depth at second row with some bulkier guys. Attwood, Garvey and maybe Skivington should be given a shot (being a London Irish fan I obviously favour Garvey). Pair one of these guys with one of our more athletic second rows like Robson and Kitchener and that's a strong partnership.
As for Twelvetrees I used to be a big advocate for him but to be honest I don't feel like I've seen him put in a big performance yet, and if he has it's certainly not consistent. Yes he has the physical attributes and the skill set, but until he can reliably demonstrate them at premiership level he doesn't deserve a place in the first team. I don't want players in the team based on unproven potential any more than I want experience player in the team based on how they played six years ago. Ultimately we want player to be putting up their hand and saying pick me on a weekly basis so that the coaches can't ignore them, and he's not doing that yet.
To be honest I think Tom Homer is unlucky not to be in the Saxons. With him on the wing or at fullback you have a very reliable kicker at your disposal, so you can play a flyhalf who is more creative (like Burns) without having to worry about his kicking percentage.

We need more physicality, I look at our forwards and I just do not see it! Where are the Dallagio/Johnson/Hill/Shaw???
We missed Lawes, a lot in SA not just for the line out, but for his presence as he will run and takle HARD at anyone, Botha, Palmer looked ok just, but nothing fantastic and Parling,ok at line out, but extreemly weak, everywhere else, not convinced.
Dowson a good player he maybe for Saints, but at international level I feel he is left wanting, I am very surprised he is still in, and Haskell out? I thought his physicallity alone in the 3rd test, stood him well
Not sure where Lancaster is trying to go....Does he know

I've just realised that the useless James Haskell has been left out of the EPS. I like Lancaster more and more every day!
I wish Steffon Armitage would return to the UK so he can be considered for the EPS... He was the stand out player in France last year!

ARMITAGE!!!!!
OK, so that's out of my system.
So the squads...
For the next 12 months, ok. For much longer, I'm not so sure.
Why isn't 12Trees in the EPS? We all want to see a better playmaker at 12 and he's got the raw talent.
Why do we persist with Stevens? Is there really no-one better?
Good to see Biggs in the Saxons.
Where's Attwood?
And nice for Heathcote to get a mention in Dispatches too.
Bath bias from me? Never!
