Danny Cipriani: Helped Sale claim their first win
Sale fly-half Danny Cipriani hopes his cameo in Sunday's 34-33 Heineken Cup win over Cardiff Blues will help him to earn more starts for the Premiership outfit.
Cipriani's introduction after 49 minutes sparked a dramatic revival for the Sharks who came back to secure victory after trailing 27-12.
The former England number 10 helped Sale to their first win this season by scoring a try and setting up one for debutant wing Mark Jennings.
He hopes his showing will convince Sale's director of rugby Bryan Redpath that he can produce similar performances when he starts matches.
"Every player wants to have game time and I've just got to fit into what the coach wants and needs," Cipriani, 24, told the BBC.
"Hopefully I put my hand up on Sunday. It's up to the coach now."
Cipriani, who returned to England earlier this year after a stint with Super Rugby outfit the Melbourne Rebels, knows he will to be at his best consistently if he wants to see off Nick Macleod's challenge for Sale's number 10 jersey.
"Nick is a great player and he wants that number 10 position as much as any player wants to be starting," added Cipriani.
"If you've got two number 10s who are playing well, that's better for the team."
And Cipriani paid tribute to Sale's supporters who boosted the side to that much needed win, something which he wants more of for the rest of their campaign.
"It's something we've been longing for as a club," he said.
"I'm sure it's been frustrating as a fan to watch but they got right behind us when things were going well [in the second half].
"We don't want to get carried away with the win but we're hoping we can really move on from here now.
"If you were just watching that game, you wouldn't have believed they were so far up at half-time.
"We had three opportunities in the first half and we didn't put them away, but, with more confidence, we will do that and put them away when we need to."

On his day he is up there with the best of that there is no doubt but when not on form he is down there with the worst. Currently he is too much of a liability until and until he has put in some consistently good performances don't think he'll get a look in for England

Afterhis performance last weekend ,it would be a very strange decision to now drop him to the bench.But D.Ciprani has to prove he can perform like that week in week out .If he can and does ,then he will give SL and co,alot of headaches concerning FH for England imo.
